100 Years of Freshness

In the rolling countryside of Washington County, on sandy soil that once washed down the Battenkill River, stands Hand Melon Farm. In this idyllic setting, with the Green Mountains of Vermont to the East, you’ll find 425 lush acres of crops including corn, tomatoes, berries, squash, peppers, pumpkins, and the world’s most famous melon – the Hand Melon.

History was made here almost 100 years ago when young Allen Hand planted a novel crop of muskmelons which sweetened through the long summer and early fall – and became a runaway success. Since that time, movie stars, presidents, and the Saratoga summer set have all enjoyed Hand Melons. Today, their reputation for flavor and sweetness is unparalleled.
